Bulgaria in the European Union |
|
On January 1st, 2007 the Republic of Bulgaria became a member of the European Union, a prosperous organization in the world. More than a decade, the Republic of Bulgaria and its citizens strove for becoming a part from this economic and political community. Bulgaria is facing other challenges now. Bulgaria has to manage to use the numerous opportunities for own development, which the European Union is giving, and to achieve high and sustainable economic growth in order to surmount the social separation and isolation, to develop the human potential, to count on the development of new knowledge and skills, thence and on the investments and new technologies and in the same time to preserve and improve the ecology. At the moment Bulgaria is implementing the European politics for economic and social rapprochement for the 2001 -2013 period. These politics are directed to reducing of the differences in the economic and social development of the member states and their regions. The rapprochement politics are purposeful transfer of resources between the member states through the European Union Budget for support of the economic growth and the sustainable development by means of investment in people, the economic, the infrastructure, the employment and innovations.
